Elias A Busuego Jr PhD DTM and Christie G Busuego and Families

First, we will invite you to meet our Lord Jesus Christ.

On John 3:16 AMPC says, “For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.

The entire Gospel comes to a focus in this verse. God’s love is not just to a certain group of individuals – it is offered to the world. God’s love is not static or self-centered; it reaches out and draws others in. Here God’s actions defined the pattern of true love, the basis for all love relationships – when you love someone, you are willing to sacrifice dearly for that person. Sacrificial love is also practical in seeking ways to meet the needs of those who are loved. In God’s case, that love was infinitely practical, since it set out to rescue those who had no hope of rescuing themselves. God paid dearly to save us; He gave His only Son, the highest price He could pay.

This offer is made to everyone who believes. To “believe” is more than intellectual agreement that our Lord Jesus Christ is God. It means putting our trust and confidence in Him that He alone can save us. It is to put Lord Jesus Christ in charge of our present plans and eternal destiny. Believing is both trusting His words as reliable and relying on Him for the power to change.

Our Lord Jesus Christ accepted our punishment and paid the price for our sins so that we would not perish. Perish does not mean physical death, for we all will eventually die. Here it refers to eternity apart from God. Those who believe will receive the alternative, the new life that our Lord Jesus Christ bought for us – eternal life with God.

Second, we will help you to grow in your spiritual life.

On 2 Peter 3:18 AMPC says, “But grow in grace (undeserved favor, spiritual strength) and recognition and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (the Messiah). To Him [be] glory (honor, majesty, and splendor) both now and to the day of eternity. Amen (so be it)!

Peter concluded this brief letter as he had begun, by urging his readers to grow (the verb is a present imperative, meaning “continue growing”) in the special favor and knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ – to get to know Christ better and better.

Born-Again Christian believers “grow in favor” as they understand that they are living by God’s grace alone – so everything they do is a result of that grace. Believers “grow in knowledge” as they search and study the Scriptures, pray, listen to sound teachers, and apply that knowledge to their daily lives. If they do these, they will not need to fear being influenced by false teachers. Our Lord Jesus Christ is Lord, divine and omnipotent; He is our Lord and Savior, the one who accomplished humanity’s salvation. To Him be all glory and honor in this age and in the new eternal age to come. Amen, so be it.

Third, we will help you know, understand, and apply the Words and God.

On Romans 8:1 AMPC says, “THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit [John 3:18.].”

We feel condemned because Satan uses past guilt and present failures to make us question what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us. Our assurance must be focused on our Lord Jesus Christ, not our performance. No matter how we may feel, there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. Because we have been rescued by Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 7:24-25), we are not condemned. To belong to Lord Christ Jesus means to have put our faith in Him, becoming a member of His body of believers. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life” (John 5:24).

Fourth, we will build our relationship with Father God through our Lord Jesus Christ in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.

On Romans 5:9 AMPC says, “Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God.”

God made us right in His sight through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ shed on the cross (see Romans 3:25). Because God is holy, He could not accept us by simply disregarding or ignoring our sins. Instead, those sins had to be dealt with. And God did this through the sacrificial death of His Son. Again, this justification is God’s approval, given to us only on the basis of what our Lord Jesus Christ did. It is an acquittal that sets free all of us who were otherwise hopeless prisoners of sin. If Lord Jesus Christ’s blood was shed on our behalf, then His blood will certainly save us from God’s judgment.
